PROF. ABHIK KUMAR NAYAK

Bio

Abhik Kumar Nayak is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social, Liberal Arts and Behavioural Sciences at Universal AI University. He pursued his Ph.D. in Psychology from the Centre for Health Psychology, School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad, with his doctoral research examining the Impact of Mindfulness on Psychological State and Psychosocial Behaviour Among Emerging Adults. His key areas of interest include Positive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Social Psychology.

 

Mr.  Nayak has presented papers at International Conferences, has published in peer-reviewed journals, and has mentored postgraduate students in their dissertation work. His teaching approach is rooted in interactive, student-centred learning, fostering critical thinking, reflective practice, and real-world application of psychological concepts. He has received several accolades for his academic and extracurricular excellence. These include a State-level Psychology Quiz Competition award, as well as two awards presented by the Governor of Odisha for his outstanding performance in inter-college quiz and essay competitions. Additionally, Prof.  Nayak was a district-level school chess champion and has represented Odisha in state-level chess tournaments.

 

He remains deeply committed to blending academic rigor with personal development and actively encourages interdisciplinary engagement and holistic education in the classroom and beyond.
